To date I have completed 23 years on the Farm Cove Intermediate Board of Trustees. Both my daughters were students at Farm Cove Intermediate so my family has a long history with the school.

I have taken part in all aspects of the Board with my focus being property. Over the years I have been responsible for overseeing some of the big building projects around the school.

As part of my responsibilities I keep an active watch on the security of the school. I regularly call in over the holiday period and do a walk around to check on buildings and the surrounding environment. Also I keep up with day-to-day maintenance by communicating on a regular basis with the school property manager.

My aim for the coming term on the Board is to keep the school in great condition, so the students and staff enjoy coming to school in a safe and welcoming environment which will help them to enjoy their learning.

Apart from the BoT I am a Commander with St John, and spent time in Christchurch during the 2011 earthquake, working front line, and helping at the local St John opportunity shop. I run my own computer cabling company contracting to ASB Bank.

Kia Ora !! I have been filling in on a Board vacancy since August 2018, and would like to seek election this year to continue serving on the Board for the next three years. Our family of four immigrated to New Zealand in 2010. My daughter graduated from Farm Cove in 2017 & my son is currently in Year 7 in the School. My wife works as a reliever in one of the known childcare centres around the country. I am a Chartered Accountant by Profession with 18+ years of experience. We as parents are passionate about our family finding a study-work-life balance in an exciting but demanding tech era that we are into, and which continues to evolve and challenge us. And how we can keep that family time going  My Volunteering work includes being (previously) Treasurer for Elm Park School PTA for almost 4 years as well as participating in Volunteer Days as part of my workplace. If elected, what I hope to bring to the Board is a strong focus on process/governance, and also ensuring we as a Board are making the right decisions for our School & children. Last but not the least, also bringing cultural diversity to the Board.

Shelley Piper
Elected

As a mum of two I am passionate about child wellbeing and ensuring our children are given the best chance at success. I have previously worked for two not-for-profit child focussed charities, ChildFund New Zealand and Brainwave Trust Aotearoa, as their Marketing and Fundraising Manager. During my time at Brainwave Trust I developed a passion for helping ensure that parents, teachers and wider whanau have the tools to help children thrive through childhood and adolscents.

I have been on the board since 2018 and I bring to the board a commitment to strongly support Farm Cove Intermediate in their development and delivery of their student wellbeing strategy. I believe it is important to hear from all those involved in the school – students, teachers, parents, whanau and school management - as well as external experts, to ensure that FCI develops a leading edge wellbeing focus within the school environment.

I have two children currently at Wakaaranga Primary School in year 5 and year 6 so Iook forward to joining FCI family as a parent next year.

I have sought re-election as a Board member of Farm Cove Intermediate, as I believe I can add value to the educational opportunities at the school. I have been on the board for three years and chairperson for two years. I have a passion for supporting education. I work for the largest charity in the world, and through this it gives me the opportunity to give back to the community and also work with some inspiring people delivering top education to our community’s children.

Driven by a passion to deliver organisational excellence to the businesses I represent and the teams I lead, I am a highly competent and accomplished manager with an extensive record of developing markets, leading local and international operations, generating long-term revenue sustainability and increasing operational efficiencies using exceptional negotiation and relationship-building capabilities. With strong leadership skills and corporate governance, a record of delivering outstanding financial results in highly competitive markets around the globe, I have the knowledge and experience to build and instigate innovative strategic plans that produce expansion in revenue, market share and profitability.

I look forward to supporting the continuation of Farm Cove Intermediate’s great reputation that it holds within New Zealand and internationally.
